Terms of Service

Plain English

Pay ₱99, get a hazard report for one Philippine address. The report is informational — it doesn't replace a licensed engineer. Sign up to save reports across devices; don't scrape or resell our data; and we'll do our best to keep the service honest and useful.

1. Who we are

CheckHazard is operated from Manila, Philippines. When this page says "we," "us," or "CheckHazard," it means the team behind checkhazard.com. When it says "you," it means anyone who uses the site or buys a report.

2. What you're paying for

A CheckHazard report is a structured assessment of natural-hazard exposure at a single Philippine address — flood, fault line, landslide, storm surge, elevation, slope, and waterway proximity, drawn from public Philippine government datasets and rendered with our scoring formulas.

One ₱99payment unlocks one report for one address. The report is delivered through your browser and can be saved to PDF using your browser’s Print → Save as PDF feature.

Pricing. All prices are quoted in Philippine pesos (PHP) and processed by Paymongo. We may change pricing at any time, but a report you’ve already paid for is honored at the price you paid; pricing changes apply only to subsequent purchases. Promotional pricing or discounts may be offered from time to time and don’t set a baseline for future pricing.

3. Accounts

You can browse a free report preview without an account. To save reports across devices, view your purchase history, and unlock the full Summary tab, you’ll need to sign up for a CheckHazard account. You can sign up with an email + password, or with Sign in with Google or Sign in with Facebook. The OAuth flows are described in our Privacy Policy § 2a.

You’re responsible for the accuracy of the information on your account, for keeping your password (or your linked Google / Facebook account) secure, and for any activity that happens under your account. Don’t share credentials, don’t reuse a password you’ve used elsewhere, and enable provider-side two-factor authentication on Google or Facebook if you sign in through them. If you think your account has been compromised, email us right away. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account; CheckHazard isn’t designed for minors.

We may suspend or close an account that violates these terms, attempts to bypass payment, or that is being used to abuse the service. You can close your own account at any time by emailing us; see Privacy Policy § 7 for what happens to your data when you do.

4. Acceptable use

We’re happy for you to use a report for your own decisions, share it with your client or family, or attach it to a property listing. What we ask you not to do:

  • Don’t scrape, crawl, or bulk-download the site.
  • Don’t repackage CheckHazard reports into a competing product or public dataset.
  • Don’t reverse-engineer the API or attempt to bypass rate limits or payment.
  • Don’t share your account credentials, impersonate someone else, or create an account using another person’s Google/Facebook identity.
  • Don’t represent a CheckHazard report as an engineering, geotechnical, or insurance certification — it isn’t one.

5. Refunds

If a report fails to generate, returns the wrong address, or is clearly broken in a way that's our fault, email us within seven days and we'll refund you. We can't refund a report just because the result wasn't what you hoped to read about your property — the data is what the data is.

6. Accuracy and limitations

We build on public Philippine government data (UP NOAH, PHIVOLCS, NAMRIA, OpenStreetMap). That data has its own accuracy bounds, dates, and gaps — and our coverage isn't uniform across the country yet. See the Disclaimer for the specifics.

We don't warrant that any report is complete, current, or fit for a particular purpose. For binding decisions — buying a building, underwriting a policy, approving a permit — commission a licensed professional.

7. Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by Philippine law, our total liability for any claim related to a report is capped at the amount you paid for that report (₱99). We're not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses — lost profit, lost sale, lost time.

8. Changes to the service

We may add, change, or remove parts of CheckHazard as the product evolves. We'll keep paid reports accessible for at least 12 months from purchase, even if the underlying feature changes.

9. Changes to these terms

If we update these terms in a way that affects you, we'll change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be announced on the homepage for at least 30 days before they take effect.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines. Disputes will be handled in the courts of Metro Manila.

11. Severability & entire agreement

If any clause in these terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable by a court, the remaining clauses stay in full effect — the invalid clause is severed, not the whole document. These terms together with our Privacy Policy, Disclaimer, and Data Licensing notice form the entire agreement between you and CheckHazard regarding the service, and supersede any prior conversation or document on the same subject.
